A Miranda by Rowing

Enjoy our coasts from the water while doing some exercise on board your Sea Kayak.

You can choose from quiet walks letting ourselves be carried by the tide through the course of the SOR river to open sea crossings under the imposing cliffs of «LOIBA» for those who want something more adventurous.

1. BANKS OF THE SOR RIVER

(Low difficulty)

Route that runs through the entire estuary of O Barqueiro. The lower part near the sea and with characteristics more typical of it and, in contrast, the upper part of the route, where we discover the Sor River. Clean and crystalline waters where we can find various species of waterfowl such as herons, egrets, kingfishers, gulls, ducks, sandpipers, cormorants…

2. BARQUEIRO-BARES

(Low difficulty)

Route that will take us from the port of O Barqueiro to the port of Bares (pier of Phoenician origin).

On this route we will be able to observe a series of coves that are not accessible from land. We will enjoy privileged views of the towns of O Barqueiro and Bares. Finally, we will see the East face of Cabo de Estaca de Bares (the northernmost point of the Iberian Peninsula).

3. BARES-ESTACA

(high difficulty)

The crossing begins at the Phoenician pier of Bares, passing through the entire east face of the cape. We will double Estaca de Bares to reach the beach of Esteiro, in O Barqueiro.

It will allow us to observe all the cliffs existing in both faces of the cape, its coves, areas of «percebeiros» …

A Miranda by road

A Miranda is located in the center of the Ortegal region, which has an area of about 400 square kilometers.

The trips to access some of the must-see places, far from being a formality, will be an opportunity to explore and enjoy fauna, flora and spectacular landscapes.

We propose different routes by road, depending on the interests of the traveler, to enjoy both the way and the destination.

1. MARINE VILLAGES

Villages that preserve their identity and that have survived for years thanks to their intimate relationship with their wild and paradisiacal coasts. Walk through their ports and taste the delicacies of the sea in the most authentic places.

Don’t expect too much protocol or etiquette, but the quality and freshness will be unbeatable.

2. THE CAPES OF THE NORTH

Cabo Ortegal and Estaca de Bares are two of the lighthouses with the most impressive views of Galicia. They are the northernmost of the peninsula and establish the limit between the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea.

Perched on imposing cliffs they have resisted thousands of storms and helped navigation for centuries.

3. CLIFFS

From the «garita de Herbeira» we will observe the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean from the highest cliffs in continental Europe. and you will be able to admire a sunset from «the most beautiful bench in the world» located on the cliffs of Loiba.

They are two of the «must-sees» of the Ortegal region that you cannot miss.

.

SURF

We are lucky to be surrounded by ideal beaches for surfing. All the states of the sea, tide and all the directions of the wind have their possibilities:

The beach of Esteiro, in Mañón, very constant in summer; The beaches of San Antonio and A Concha, in Espasante, for the quieter days or the beach of Fornos, in Cariño, for the stormy days in winter … there are almost always options.

In addition, if you want to learn or improve, we offer surf courses designed to convey all the necessary knowledge for a complete introduction and easy progression regardless of your age, level and objectives.

.

ON HORSE BACK

One of the most original options with which you will reconnect with yourself through nature and animals.

There are different trails and options for all levels … You can walk quietly through

forests, waterfalls and viewpoints that will surprise you at every step or ride through the so-called Mountains of Mist next to wild horses in «A Serra da Capelada».

There are other options such as: enjoying a riding class or visiting a farm to interact with various animal species.

.

YOGA

We love yoga and practice it every morning. We organize individual, collective and retreat sessions for up to 12 people including healthy food and accommodation. Our teacher leads two types of sessions that you can join without prior experience.

1. Hatha yoga

To reconnect with calm and inner balance through a gentle and deep practice, in which we mobilize, tone and stretch the whole body. We awaken awareness in breathing, with a lot of care and kindness with ourselves.

2. Yoga Nidra

A session of deep relaxation to approach our natural state of tranquility and happiness. A guided meditation practice through conscious relaxation that prepares us for a restful sleep.
